Dr. Julie Gray graduated from the University of Aberdeen Medical School in 2007, having first completed a BSc in Nursing in 2001. She qualified as a GP in 2012 and has been a GP partner for over 13 years. Julie has broad experience across medicine, including work in the Emergency Department, over a decade in pre-hospital emergency care as a first responder and instructor, and several years as a forensic medical examiner.
Within general practice, Julie’s areas of interest include lifestyle medicine, women’s health, menopause care, contraception, and cryotherapy. She is qualified in the fitting and changeover of ring pessaries for prolapse management, performs joint injections, and has extensive experience in infant baby checks.
Julie is a Lifestyle Medicine Physician and completed her Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine in 2018. She has served as the Scottish Regional Lead for the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM)since 2017, and in 2025 was awarded an Honorary Clinical Fellowship of the BSLM in recognition of her outstanding contribution to lifestyle medicine and the society. She is currently working towards completing her British Menopause Society certificate.
She is passionate about integrating lifestyle approaches into daily GP consultations and supporting patients to make sustainable changes that improve their health and wellbeing.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys an active, outdoors lifestyle with her husband and two young children. A keen triathlete, she has completed several middle-distance races and enjoys paddleboarding, hillwalking and snow sports.
