Dr. David Cooper graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1997 and has over 23 years of experience as a GP, and previous work in emergency medicine. He has been a GP trainer for many years, successfully supporting and mentoring numerous GPs across Aberdeen and beyond.
David has a particular interest in offshore and remote healthcare, as well as pre-hospital emergency care, occupational health, digital innovation, and primary care. Alongside his work in general practice,he serves as Deputy Medical Director at MCL Medics, Chairperson of the Scottish National Users Group (SNUG), and Chair of the NHS Grampian IT Group. His career reflects a strong commitment to practical improvements that support frontline GPs and enhance patient care.
He is qualified in sexual and reproductive health (DFSRH) and provides a wide range of GP consultations, with additional expertise in occupational health assessments, offshore medical support, and digital health integration. His leadership roles have also seen him recognised with awards and professional accolades. He has additional skills in minor surgery, joint injections and contraceptive implant insertion.
Outside of medicine, David enjoys hill walking, playing tennis, and playing the cornet. He is passionate about enhancing patient care through innovation, collaboration and education.
