Mr Lin is a Consultant Oculoplastic (eyelid), Lacrimal (watery eye/tear duct) & Ophthalmic Surgeon. He is an expert of the eyelids and the tear ducts which sit in the inner corner of the eyelids. He is triple-accredited in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. He is also a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.
Mr Lin began his journey with his elective in Moorfields Eye Hospital before going on to train in general Ophthalmology and advanced small-incision Cataract surgery techniques in the East of England. During this time, he was selected as Chief Resident at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, won several prizes/merits, and earned a PGCert from the University of Cambridge.
Mr Lin further subspecialised in Oculoplastic and Lacrimal surgery in Cambridge and Southampton. He was appointed as Consultant in Colchester to lead these services, where he performs hundreds of eyelid operations each year. Mr Lin is a meticulous surgeon utilising modern techniques to minimise scarring and maximise symmetry. He also runs the periocular Botox service at Colchester.
Mr Lin teaches Oculoplastic and Cataract surgery on the Faculty for Microsurgical Skills at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and trains the next generation of surgeons in his NHS theatres. He is also the departmental medical school lead for the University of East Anglia.
Mr Lin has published in respected international journals on aspects of Oculoplastic and Lacrimal surgery, and on problems with filler. He is a peer-reviewer for several well-known journals.
