I am a professional counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist who believes in a grounded approach to therapy; grounded academically, grounded in research and grounded in experience. By this I mean I am fully qualified to a high standard (professionally trained as a counsellor at the University of Bristol). Although initially trained as a psychotherapist, I retrained as a counsellor specialising in short-term, focused interventions; the tools that make up my toolkit have been assessed by researchers for their validity and effectiveness. I have a unique skill set to offer clients; having worked as a counsellor for 15 years, and also worked in senior management in multinational companies for 15 years. I obtained my PhD at the University of Bristol School of Education, researching learning and development at wor k and how we can rediscover ways of having fun in our lives at work and at home My specific focus is on conflict, whether that is in our relationships with others at home, at play or work. I have written several articles and delivered lectures/workshops to national and international audiences. I work with organisations large and small, along with the police community housing associations, primarily where behavioural issues are causing problems for others in the community/office.
